K2 Construction was founded in 2001 and is locally owned and operated in Lincoln, Nebraska. This central location allows us to mobilize throughout the Midwest quickly and efficiently. K2 Geothermal was started in 2009 and has quickly grown into Nebraska’s largest geothermal contractor. K2 Geothermal is your full service commercial and residential geothermal contractor. We Your service and satisfaction begin and ends with K2 Geothermal.

Tom Rogge
Manager
Tom has been in the underground utility industry since graduating high school in 1988 when he was hired by Rogge Engineering.

From 1988 through 1992 Tom attended the University of Nebraska at Lincoln and worked full time, moving up through the ranks from laborer to construction supervisor. In 1998 Tom changed companies to become a construction supervisor for a large underground utility company in Lincoln. While there, Tom was in charge of projects ranging in size from $100,000 to $4 million. Tom joined K2 Construction in 2002 and has been a managing partner ever since.

Travis Sondgeroth
Manager
Travis graduated from Pennsylvania State University in 1994 with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering.

In 1995 Travis was commissioned into the Regular Army and Branched Engineer. While in the Army, he served at Fort Lewis, WA with the 14th Combat Engineer Battalion and served as; line platoon leader, support platoon leader, executive officer and battalion intelligence officer. In 1999 Travis moved to Lincoln, NE and took a position as a business development manager for a local underground utility company. In 2000 Travis began working as a contractor for a wireless telecommunication carrier. While there, he was involved in the design and construction of wireless sites. In 2002 K2 Construction was formed and Travis came on board as a managing partner.

John Porter
Project Manager & Estimator
John graduated from the University of Nebraska at Kearney in 1990 with a Bachelor of Science in Business Management.

John served as an Armor officer in the Army and the Nebraska National Guard for 14 years. In 2001, John received his MBA from Bellevue University. John began working in the construction industry in 2006 and joined K2 Construction in 2015. In 2018 John was promoted to Division Manager for the K2 Geothermal Division. He is responsible for all geothermal estimating and project management. John has managed projects from $5,000 to over $6 million and has a strong passion for growing the geothermal industry. John is considered one of the area’s experts in geothermal and his expertise is sought out on projects ranging from single family dwelling to large commercial.

Mike Wolf
Pipe Superintendent
Mike Wolf relocated from Houston, Texas to Lincoln, Nebraska and joined the K2 Geothermal Team in 2009.

Mike has been passionate about Geothermal Drilling for 20 years and has experience on the mechanical side. Mike has been part of several mechanical rooms and some of the most complex house systems in the Midwest. Mike has developed relationships with engineers, contractors and general contractors all over the country.

John “Chris” Jones
Drilling Superintendent
Chris got his start drilling water wells in 1996. In 1999 Chris was drilling geothermal wells up and down the east coast.

In 2010 Chris traveled to Nigeria to drill irrigation wells and set pivots. Christ joined us in Nebraska in 2011 and joined K2 Geothermal, where he has done many large projects all over the Midwest. Chris holds a drillers License in Nebraska and Iowa.
